You can register to secure a Thanksgiving meal for yourself or someone you know. Registrations will be limited to 125 Thanksgiving meals ready to be shared, and only one bag per household. Each recipient will get a reusable grocery bag filled with all the essentials for a Thanksgiving feast, as well as a $10 Stop and Shop gift card, enabling families to purchase their desired turkey. Amicable Congregational Church is once again collecting donations for its Tiverton Community Thanksgiving Basket giveaway. If your family can benefit from a basket, vouchers are available and can be picked up at the Tiverton library on Tuesdays from noon to 2 p.m. and Thursdays from 3 to 5 p.m. The need this year is great, according to their website, so volunteers are still seeking donations of green vegetables, corn, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and gravy for their baskets. They are also accepting any other grocery or household items or monetary donations through Nov. 16. Due to the high demand, the church cannot service those from outside Tiverton at this time unless there are extra baskets.
